What to Wear

Far Apart, But Not at Heart

At difficult times like these, trying to navigate social distancing likely means you or a loved one may be longing for a reunion. We know we are! We all have loved ones near and far that we would do anything to spend time with. Whether they are just down the street or on the other side of the country, it is important to find a way to stay in touch. Our team has rounded up a few ways to reach out and share a sense of companionship in a safe and socially distant way. Afterall, absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Get some FaceTime!

Whether it be a FaceTime call, Zoom meeting, or Facebook video chat, plan a time and send an invite to catch up. By scheduling something ahead of time, you're more likely to follow-through and it gives everyone something exciting to look forward to in their day. Host a virtual game night or just make time for some sweet conversation. Even more fun? Dress for the occasion, only from the neck up. What better way to show off those brand-new statement earrings that just arrived in the mail? We've selected some of our favorite earrings and necklaces to jazz up your video chat looks.

Plan a virtual decked-out dinner date.

Here's a unique opportunity to dust off some of your finest china. With your virtual date, plan out a menu and share a meal from a safe distance. Whether you decide on a homecooked or takeout entree, plate your dish and pour a nice glass of wine in your favorite stemware (you definitely deserve it). Don't forget dessert! Bake or prepare it ahead of time and unveil it on a classic or colorful cake stand to really impress your virtual guest.

Host a cocktail party.

Just because bars and restaurant attendance may be limited doesn't mean we all can't enjoy a happy hour to unwind at the end of the day. Gather together your family, friends, or your favorite after-hours coworkers for a virtual cheers. For even more fun, ask everyone to plan a single-serving appetizer and share the recipe or dish with the group while enjoying the perfect summer cocktail. We recommend a charcuterie board to accompany your beverage of choice. The best part? You don't have to share a single bite!

Before you know it, that day will come where we can reunite and hug one another again. Until that day, a reliable support system is priceless. With the support of a loved one, you can get through anything, and with your support, so can they! It's time to make someone's day a little bit brighter.
